Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam Scheme is a new initiative which announced while presenting the state budget on 19 February, and it was launched by the Chief Minister Shri M.K. Stalin. The government has allocated around INR 3500 crores, which will be used to build 8 lakh houses in rural areas.
