Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam Scheme is a new initiative which announced while presenting the state budget on 19 February, and it was launched by the Chief Minister Shri M.K. Stalin. The government has allocated around INR 3500 crores, which will be used to build 8 lakh houses in rural areas. The agenda for the implementation of the scheme is to eliminate jhuggis and make some development by providing them pucca house. - The main motive of introducing Kalaignarin Kanavu Illam Scheme is to make slum free state by constructing solid houses in rural areas.
- The budget allocated for the scheme is around INR 35,00 crores, from which the government will try to build around 8 lakh houses till the end of 2030.
