The initiative will also assist the people who lost their houses in natural disasters, elephant attacks etc. The scheme will come into force from the 30th March 2025 in the event occurring at the Krishna Nagar field, Bhawani Patna in Kalahandi. Around 50,000 beneficiaries have been identified by the government who will get the housing scheme benefits across the state, whereas around 3,000 beneficiaries from Kalahandi will receive housing in the first phase of the initiative.

- The main motive to introduce the Antyodaya Housing Scheme is to help poor people who don’t have proper housing facilities and reside in a Kutcha house by providing them financial assistance.
- Around INR 2,600 crore budget has been allocated for the first year, and INR 7,550 crore for the entire term of the project has been decided by the government.
