Antyodaya Gruha Yojana is a new initiative started by the Odisha government. In this scheme, the government will provide authentic houses to the poor people of the state. The launch date for the scheme decided by the government is 30 March in Kalahandi. The initiative will aim to assist around 50,000 people in the state in its initial phase. The government will be providing pucca houses to the victims of elephant attacks, natural calamities, houses taken over from the government due to growth projects, and differently-abled persons who are the main earning members of the family. Purpose of Antyodaya Gruha Yojana
- The main agenda for the introduction of Antyodaya Gruha Yojana is to provide financial assistance to eligible people in the state who have been left out of previous housing schemes and help them get their own pucca house.
- The budget for the scheme allocated by the government is around INR 2603 crore and it will be directly transferred into the bank account of eligible applicants through the Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT) method.
- The government also stated that the scheme will provide a pucca house to the victim of elephant attacks, houses taken over from the government due to growth projects, differently-abled persons who are the main earning members of the family, natural calamities and FRA beneficiaries.
- With the introduction of this scheme, the government aims to eliminate homelessness and ensure shelter security for all the people living in the state.
- The financial assistance will be provided INR 1.2 lakh per beneficiary in three installments i.e. around INR 10000, 65000, and 15000 will be given in installments 1,2 and 3.

Benefits of Antyodaya Gruha Yojana

- Income of more than INR 15,000 per month.
- Possession of mechanized three/four-wheeler agricultural equipment.
- Households relocated for setting up government projects and who owns pucca houses in other localities.
